The Italian International School, Lekki, Lagos, will witness some of the best tennis actions it has ever seen when the final of the Rome City Nigerian Open holds today, Sunday 24 December, 2023.

The three-day event is a tournament organized by the Rome City Institute to help Nigerian players gain scholarships into the Italian institution.

While every participant is guaranteed a level of scholarship, the winners will be given more discounts on the scholarship as extra motivation for winning the tournament.

Nigeria Tennis Live has now gathered that the Sunmisola Okajare and Toyin Asogba will slug it out for the Girl’s Singles.

This final match up is an interesting one, seeing that both players are top national juniors with Asogba among Nigeria’s top ten on the national women rankings.

Okajare on the other hand, is a National Youth Games silver medalist, and one of the top prospects in Nigerian tennis given her recent track records.

For the Boy’s Singles final Joseph Fortune will be up against Monday Odeh in another interesting match up in Lagos.

While Fortune seems like a pre-event favourite to defeat Monday, the latter does not seem like a push over, having recorded impressive results in the tournament already.

Nigeria Tennis Live will continue to update all our readers and followers about the competition which started on Friday, 22 December and will end on Sunday, 24 December, 2023.
