Nigeria Tennis Live has exclusively gathered why junior tennis sensation, Oyinlomo Quadre withdrew from participating at the Junior ITF Circuit in Algeria, where she had been seeded seven for the competition.
Our correspondent had reported that Quadre, one of the most talented youngsters of her generation, had been scheduled to participate in a tournament which could boost her world ranking from the 314 she’s been on, but her withdrawal was confirmed via a fact check by this medium.
In an exclusive chat with Nigeria Tennis Live recently, she explained that age does not totally seem to be on her side, hence the need to choose certain tournaments to participate in at.
She said: “I have limited tournaments left to play before my birthday.
“I am only eligible to play 15 tournaments and I have only 5 left so I had to change my schedule to choose the right tournaments.”
On the next stop for her with tournaments, Quadre explained that she would be representing Nigeria at the African Junior Championship taking place in March.
“So now my next tournament is African Junior Championship in March, where I will be representing Nigeria and also getting points with that opportunity,” the youngster noted.
