Nigeria’s youngster, Prosperity Okonkwo, has qualified for the final of the J30 Accra ITF event holding in Ghana, Nigeria Tennis Live has gathered.
The Abuja-based teenage sensation reached the final after emerging winner in his semifinal match against fellow Nigerian tennis player, Mubarak Ganiyu.
Okonkwo came out tops in a keenly contested first set with a 7-5 win before his opponent, a very familiar foe, retired in the second set while being 1-2 down.

In his third J30 final of 2024, the 15-year-old youngster will be having a tough face-off against home favourite, Raphael Nii Nortei Dowuona.
Nortei will be playing in his second consecutive final after seeing off Nigeria’s Franklin Jimoh, fellow finalist from week one, in a terse semifinal encounter on Friday.

Thus, a repeat of Ghana and Nigeria in the final will be the focus of all the tennis fans at the venue of the J30 Accra event.
While the Ghanaian will be hoping for a back-to-back win in the final, Okonkwo will want to avenge fellow countryman’s defeat and win his second J30 title in 2024.
