Nigeria Tennis Live has gathered that players from all parts of Nigeria are expected at the fast approaching AZIMUTH Shipping Lines Limited Junior Tennis Championship holding in Lagos State.

Information reaching our correspondent revealed that apart from the strong presence of players who will be coming from all over the country, the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) will also be powerfully represented.

The organizers also informed that the players are expected to arrive on Sunday, 19 January since the tournament kicks off on Monday, 20 January with the under 12 category.

Coach Richard Inyang, the tournament director, noted that it is very pertinent for parents, coaches and the players to know that the schedule for arrival must not be tampered with, as lateness would not be tolerated, no matter how little.

“By now, we have players who have indicated their interests in playing this tournament from every part of Nigeria.

“For instance, players from Oyo, Ogun, Ekiti, Osun, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Rivers, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Kogi, Kebbi, Kwara, Kaduna and Abuja have already made their findings about this competition.

“We have also informed all of them that the competition kicks off on Monday, 20 January, but the arrival date for everyone is January 19.

“We do not expect people to come earlier than the date and not later either, we want the participants to stick to the stipulated time,” Coach Richard explained.

He also added that all the top junior players in the country will be in Lagos for the tournament as the competition is a national event.

According to the coach: “All the top junior players in the country will be on the court.”

Nigeria Tennis Live promises a wide coverage for the junior tennis tournament which rewards the efforts of the eventual winners with scholarships and education grants.
