Oyinlomo Steps Up After Recent Triumph In Tunisia, Battles Top 100 Stars In Grade 2 Tournament

Not relenting on her efforts as she has promised, Nigeria’s Oyinlomo Quadre has stepped up her game and is competing against top 100 junior tennis stars in a Grade 2 ITF Junior Circuit taking place in Algeria.

Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that the youngster who made history by winning her first ever Grade 3 ITF Junior tournament in Tunisia over the weekend, is one of the top seeds for the Grade 2 competition holding in Algeria.

Recall that in her interview with our correspondent, she explained how she does not want to stop after winning, thus her recent movement up the ladder into the Grade 2 category may have aptly confirmed her plan to get up further in her quest to surpass Serena Williams’s achievements.

As one of the top seeds of the competition, she got a bye for the first round and did not play any match before landing in the second round, but she will be playing against an Algerian in the second round for a place in the quarterfinals.

Her opponent, Ines Bekar, a 16-year-old player ranked about 483 in the world, had to overcome a French opposition in the first round before securing her place in the second round, and may want to cause an unlikely upset against the Nigerian superstar.

But Quadre’s coach believes that “It is a match she should win, not because she’s underrating her opponent, but because this is one match she should not lose if she has to climb up the ladder.”

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep monitoring the player’s activities and report her performance to our teeming audience.
