Prosperity Ikenna Okonkwo has defeated Daniel Adeleye for the second consecutive week to win the J60 Accra title in Ghana.

Nigeria Tennis Live reports that the Abuja-based youngster has been on fire for two consecutive weeks and deservedly won against Adeleye, the J60 Accra number one seed.

Okonkwo won the match in an epic final set tie inside the tennis section of the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, 19 October, 2024.

He took the first set through a tiebreak game which ended 7-6(4) before succumbing in the second which ended 6-3 in favour of Adeleye, the number one seed and Nigeria’s highest ranked junior player on the junior ITF ranking.

In the concluding set, Okonkwo went all out for the win as he pounced on his imposing opponent to win 6-3 and take his third title in five weeks of competition in Ghana.

This win ensured that Okonkwo emerged as the ultimate winner in Ghana after being tied with Adeleye on the number of titles won in Accra across six legs.

The 15-year-old teenager won the week two of the J30 Accra, weeks three and four of the J60 Accra events as Nigeria picked five titles out of a possible six.
