Prosperity Okonkwo ensured a clean slate at the J30 Accra tournament in Ghana by defeating home favourite, Raphael Nii Nortei Dowuona in the Boys Singles final.
The talented Nigerian tennis youngster produced arguably the performance of the week to send the fans’ favourite parking and silence the home crowd who drummed support for their player.

Okonkwo, who was playing in his third J30 final in 2024, ensured that he won his second title after a tough series of week in Europe, where he’s been playing competitions.
The 7-6 (3), 6-0 win represents the true state of the Nigerian teenager’s performance in Ghana as he took all his matches without as much as dropping a set.

Alongside Franklin Jimoh, the Abuja-based tennis youngster also won the Boys Doubles event to wrap up a very eventful week and ensure Nigeria wins handsomely in the week two of the J30 Accra event.
The boys from Nigeria condemned India’s Aarav Chawla and Aditya Mor to two straight sets defeat which ended 6-2, 6-4 in an encounter the Indians would love to forget.
Both players will be in contention for the J60 Accra title as the third week of junior ITF tournament serves off on Monday, 23 September, 2024.
