Nigerian Tennis Live can report authoritatively that the about four Nigerian youngsters are presently on their way to Togo for the ITF 14 junior championship.

Richard Inyang who is leading the team to Togo, told our correspondent that the players are expected to arrive on Wednesday for the two legged-championship which kicks off on Friday, 20 April, 2018.

Gabriel Inyang, Joseph Fortune, Serena Teluwo, Oiza Yakubu and Olamide Aluko are the players who traveled Tuesday morning, to represent Nigeria in the West African country.

Fresh from winning the CBN Girls’ 14 title for a second consecutive year, Oiza is expected to be a top performer at the junior tournament which will be played by top juniors from other parts of the continent.

A selfie for the road does not seem like a bad idea, yeah?

And even though she did not make it to the finals of the Girls’ U-14 tournament in Lagos, Serena seems to have grown over the past few months and is believed to be a prospective star player in the coming years with her consistency on the circuit.

Inyang, who has not been totally convincing since the turn of 2018 will use this as an opportunity to show Africans and the world what he is made of as the tournament is expected to help him hit top form ahead of other major junior tournaments in the country.

Other players on the team will hope to also cement their place as top juniors when they hit the courts against their other African counterparts.

Nigerian Tennis Live will monitor the players’ performance at the tournament and report their progress or otherwise as the championship continues.
