Ogunsakin Wins First Ever J200 Match As Junior ITF Event Serves Off In Durban
Seun Ogunsakin has reached the second round of a J200 event for the first time after securing a first round win at the ITF event in Durban, South Africa.
Nigeria Tennis Live reports that the former African U-14 number one player is in South Africa for a three-week period where he will participate in J100, J200 & J300 events.
Ogunsakin is among the players selected by the Grand Slam Player Development Program (GSPDP), CAT and the International Tennis Federation to play the Junior ITF events in South Africa.

And in the first week, he reached the semifinals of the J100 in Pretoria, taking him up the ladder in the recently-released Junior ITF Rankings.
In the second week, the Nigerian tennis starlet ensured that he did not disappoint by winning against Wild Card entrant, Boitshepo Maake in a final set tie.
Ogunsakin had to come from behind to defeat the talented South African tennis player in a game that ended 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 in favour of the relentless Nigerian player.

His second round match will be against India’s Kriish Tyagi, the tournament’s number four seed and a world top 100 player in what promises to be an explosive encounter for the Ekiti-born tennis sensation.
Nigerians will be hoping that their player gets past his Indian opponent and land in an unprecedented second round at his inaugural appearance at a J200 event.
