    NTF Confirms Dates For Rainoil, Vemp Open National Tournaments

    The Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) has confirmed the dates for the Rainoil and Vemp National tournaments which are expected to be played before the end of the year 2019.

    In a brief chat with Nigeria Tennis Live on Friday, Engr. Ifedayo Akindoju, the NTF President, confirmed that the Vemp Open which is in its second consecutive year, will take place in December, shortly after the Rainoil Tennis Open.

    According to him, the Rainoil which is played on clay court, will hold from the last week in November to the first week in December after which period the Vemp Open will take centre stage.

    “We have the dates for both tournaments confirmed already,” he told our correspondent during a phone conversation.

    Engr. Akindoju also added: “Starting from October, we are going to have a very busy three months to end the year with a flurry of national and international competitions.

    “The Lagos Open, the Wheelchair Futures, the Junior ITF Circuits, Vemp and Rainoil Opens, as well as the Dala Hard Court tournaments will all be played during this period.”

    The fastest approaching of the competitions is the Lagos Open World Tour Circuit, which kicks off on Monday, 7 October, and culminates on Sunday, 20 October, 2019.

    Participants are expected to arrive on Friday, sign in on Saturday and play the qualifiers on Sunday before the draws for the Main Draws are done on Sunday night, ahead of the commencement of the tournament on Monday.

    Nigeria Tennis Live will be on ground to give a wide coverage for the competition which hosts over 200 players coming from over 50 countries of the world, including Nigeria.
