The three-month-old board of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) is set for its first Annual General Meeting (AGM) to discuss the way forward for the sport in Nigeria.

Nigerian Tennis Live checks revealed that the board members headed by the lanky president, Engr. Ifedayo Akindoju will be meeting in Abuja on Saturday, 18 November, alongside the members of the tennis associations from all over the federation.

Our correspondent can report that preparations are being finalised for the successful hosting of the first AGM in the nation’s capital as tennis stakeholders gather to make certain decisions which will help move the sport forward.

President of the NTF, Engr. Ifedayo Akindoju will lead other members to the AGM on Saturday, 18 November, 2017

In a brief chat with Nigerian Tennis Live on Thursday, 16 November, Mrs. Mariam Akande, the secretary of the federation, preparations had reached 80%, as she noted that the presence of the delegates on Saturday would complete the event.

“Everything is almost set for the AGM, my brother. In fact, we are ready. The only thing yet to complete our preparations is the presence of the participants on Saturday.

“We are expecting all association chairmen and their secretaries for the AGM and we are ready to host them.

“We hope to have a successful AGM this weekend as we chart a way forward for tennis in the country,” she said during the discussion with our correspondent.

Nigerian Tennis Live will publish updates from the meeting in Abuja as tennis enthusiasts will be hoping to get cheering news from the stakeholders’ forum.
