Debuting Team Techvibe has vowed to repeat the unprecedented feat of Team Offikwu at the 2016 edition of the ongoing NCC Tennis League.

Team Offikwu, led by Nigeria’s number one player, Sylvester Emmanuel, won the league in 2016 in what many thought was impossible.

And in a chat with Naija Tennis Special, Oke Joseph Olalekan, the team’s manager, informed categorically that his team stands a chance against the more fancied teams in the league.

Musa Bala is set to lead his team’s charge for victory when hostilities resume this weekend at the NCC Tennis League.

He stated with assurance, that even though the major aim of competing in the league is for exposure, he still believes that his team stands a chance, especially as they face the defending champions in their first match.

“Our first match is coming up this weekend, and we are really prepared for it.

“And yes, we do stand a chance,” Olalekan told our correspondent.

Asked if he registered the team just for them to take part in the league, the CEO of SOFIT Tennis Academy noted that he put in the team “Mainly because I want to get the players from here more busy and exposed.

“The more matches they play, the more exposed, confident and tick they become.”

Olalekan further hailed the organisers of the league, stating that “The league is a good thing to the development of tennis in Nigeria.

Jos-based Team Techvibe ready to take on Team Offikwu in their first taste of the ongoing NCC Tennis League.

“Gone are the days that Nigerian tennis players will have to wait for just two tournaments (Dala and CBN) in a whole year, it’s terrible.

“Although more still needs to be done to improve the game, starting the league is a very good bold step.

“It is revolutionising the game and I wish more will come in d nearest future.”

Michael Michael, Musa Bala,  Matthew Akor, Noah Yusuf, Oche Adehi, Linus Paul, Iveren Gaga and Abies Amadasun are the players that will do justice to the matches this weekend.
