The organisers of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Tennis League have revealed the date for commencement of the new season.
Naija Tennis Special exclusively gathered that the event which was won by Team Tombim early this year, is expected to start some time in September this year.

The brain behind the league, Godwin Kienka spoke with our correspondent in confidence on the commencement of the event, noting that the league could not start due to the Olympics which ended recently.
“We should start on the first week of September because we did not want the Olympics to take the shine off the league.
“When it is time to start, everyone involved would definitely be informed and we hope to have another set of entertaining tennis action,” Kienka, the director of the International Tennis Academy (ITA), said in Lagos.
Team Tombim pocketed N5million after emerging champions of the maiden NCC Tennis League.
The Abuja-based team made up of the new generation of players, beat Team Civil Defence 4-2 in the seven match championship decider with the final mixed doubles match becoming inconsequential.
Christian Paul, 22, ranked a lowly 27 in the current national rankings, turned out to be the surprise hero of the championship tie as he beat former No.1 Abdulmumuni Babalola in the first singles and then immediate past national champion, Christian Enosoregbe in the match that clinched the tie for his team.
