Matthew Abamu and Uchenna Oparaoji were both in blistering form for their states on Monday, when they took on their opponents in the tennis event at the ongoing National Sports Festival in Abuja.
Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that while Oparaoji is representing Rivers State at the competition, Abamu was a star player for Team Ogun in the racquet game.

Oparaoji, the Nigerian number four tennis star made sure that Kazeem Yunusa from Kogi was dumped out of the competition, defeating him in two straight sets of 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the third round of the Nigerian Olympics.
The young Nigerian representing Ogun on the other hand, did not find it easy in his match against Akila Azi, his opponent from Kogi State, but still managed a 7-6, 7-5 to book a place in the third round of the tennis event.
With these results, both players will be fighting for a quarter final slot when hostilities resume at the tennis event of the National Sports Festival going on strong in Nigeria’s Federal Capital.
Nigerian Tennis Live will keep monitoring the tennis players’ performance at the competition and report their progress as the event moves to its business end.
