    Mubarak Set For National Sports Festival Debut As Team Oyo Releases List

    Nigeria’s tennis youngster, Mubarak Ganiyu, is expected to make his debut at the National Sports Festival, Nigeria Tennis Live has gathered.

    The Ibadan-born tennis sensation has been listed among the players scheduled to represent Oyo State at the tennis event of the Festival which will hold from 12-25 January, 2025, in Ogun State.

    Coach Tirimisiyu Ganiyu, the head coach at the Oyo State Tennis Association, informed Nigeria Tennis Live that the players to represent the State at the national event had been concluded with preparations set to commence any moment from now.

    Top on the list of the players Oyo will be prosecuting the Festival with is Mubarak, a top 20 national player who also doubles as the number five highest ranked Nigerian player on the junior ITF rankings.

    He will be joined by the likes of Michael Akinmusire, Jamiu Mufutau, Kaosarat Adegboyega, Fatimoh Ganiyu and Imole Afolabi.

    When asked if there was any other form of screening to determine the final list, the man fondly called Coach T or Coach Tiri noted that everything has been concluded already.

    “No, we’re not having any more screening or trials, that’s the list of our players that will be participating in the National Sports Festival next year.

    “All that is left is just the camping and training of these players ahead of the Games and that will also start as soon as possible,” he told Nigeria Tennis Live.

    As at the time of filing this report, there has not been any other State with any update regarding the players that are expected to represent them at the tennis event of the National Sports Festival.

    However, Nigeria Tennis Live will keep tabs on the States and share all the updates with our teeming tennis audience once the players representing the States have been revealed.
