The 2018 Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Senior Tennis Open championship is getting to the business end already, with the boys gradually making way for the men.
This year’s edition, the 40th in the history of the national tournament, has produced some upsets already, with tough players subduing even tougher players and the upcoming ones, usurping their senior colleagues. The drama has been unending.
So far, Abdulmumin Babalola and Sarah Adegoke, the defending champions in the male and female categories respectively, have proven that they are not in Abuja to count bridges or to cheer the players to victory; they have been winning convincingly and are posed to retain their trophies.
But the other players also are not resting on their oars, as they’re also seeking to make names for themselves in the history of Nigerian tennis and for themselves.
