‘MaryLove Will Be A World Champion In 5 Years’

Koye Sowemimo, the Head of Sports at Temple Management Company, has predicted a five-year period for MaryLove Edwards’s explosion on the world stage.

In an exclusive chat with Naija Tennis Special, the sports and tennis enthusiast noted that the young lass is at a stage of her life where she’s already the best in her age group and it will not be too long before she becomes an item on the globe.

Young MaryLove Edwards is presently turning heads with her amazing performances.

The young MaryLove is currently enjoying the sponsorship of the management company, where she has been assured of a four or five-year scholarship deal to study and play tennis at an Academy in the United States.

And Sowemimo believes that their girl will soon become a celebrated world champion, in the next five years, at the latest.

He said: “We came across her in July 2016 and it was very evident that she is a talent. MaryLove was at that level where she was the best in her age group and still is.

“In five years, she will be a world champion.”

Asked when he thinks the young tennis prodigy would become a WTA champion, Sowemimo hesitated before saying: “It’s hard to say, but at 20, she should be lifting a trophy for the first time. She should have won a grand slam title.”

MaryLove recently represented Nigeria at the World Junior Tennis Championship in Tunisia, where she and her Nigerian counterparts’ bravery was not enough to secure qualification from their group stage.
