Dakar, Maputo Junior ITF Circuits: Marylove Knocks Out Belgian Player As Philips Prepares To Down Egyptian

Marylove Edwards earlier today, proved why she’s one of Africa’s finest junior female players with her outstanding performance against Sheila Emerenciana from Belgium at the ongoing Junior ITF Circuit in Dakar, Senegal.

The US-based youngster left no stone unturned in her 6-3, 6-2 straight sets win over the European player, as she prepares for the second round of the competition.

After this tournament, the former Nigerian number four player will move further higher the rankings as she continues to dazzle spectators with impeccable performances.

In Mozambique, however, Abayomi Philips who is yet to taste action in the tournament, will come up against Egypt’s Ahmed Mohamed for a quarterfinal slot.

Philips who’s ranked among the top 600 juniors in the world, is the tournament’s number two seed, and got a bye to play the second round of the competition instead.

The lanky Nigerian youngster who recently won an ITF tournament in Ghana, is one of the players expected to give spectators a great atmosphere at the competition taking place in Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique.
