Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt? Check Out Venue Of The Fast Approaching Rainoil National Open

Tennis followers in the country will have the luxury of some top flight tennis actions by some of the best players in Nigeria when the inaugural edition of the Rainoil National Tennis Championship serves off in December, 2017.

Nigerian Tennis Live had exclusively reported that the NTF had concluded plans with Rainoil to sponsor an annual national tournament which will cap the tennis year for the tennis players.

If the tournament, scheduled to hold in December is finally staged, it will add to the CBN Open and Dala Hard Court tournament in Lagos and Kano States respectively, and give the tennis players more competitive edge when they participate in other tournaments.

One of the challenges players face to participate in tournaments is that of movement from their respective locations to the venue where the competitions are taking place, especially when they are not even sure of winning.

This may not be the case with the Rainoil Championship as Nigerian Tennis Live gathered authoritatively that the maiden edition will be held in Lagos.

Making this disclosure was the President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), Engr. Ifedayo Akindoju, who confirmed that the week-long event will be hosted by the Lagos Country Club in Ikeja, especially because it is believed to be a clay court competition.

This new development will help Nigerian players, especially as they often play the Davis Cup Team Championship on clay court.
