Oyinlomo Quadre has lost her first match in the singles event of the ongoing Grade 2 Junior ITF Circuit event in Tunis, Tunisia.

Nigeria Tennis Live’s initial report noted that the Nigerian number one female tennis player was the tournament’s number four seed and stood a chance against Eva Shaw, an unseeded Briton.

Quadre, ranked 197 in the world junior standings, lost her first round match against her opponent, even though she fought till the very last moment.

The match ended 7-6(4), 1-6, 6-4 in favour of the British youngster, in a match which must have left the Nigerian youngster devastated.

With this result, she is now left with the Doubles event where she is partnering with Salma Moudili from Morocco to take on Britain’s Shaw and Kayla Cross from Canada.

Quadre, who’s touted as one of Nigeria’s brightest talents of the past few years, will be hoping to bounce back from this defeat that may have come as a shock to many of her followers and fans.

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep monitoring her performances in Tunisia as she continues with her tennis development in the coming months.
