Nigeria’s David Ekpenyong has been listed on the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Men’s Tennis All-America teams.

This was made public by Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU), his institution in the United States on Friday evening after the Honorees were selected by the NAIA All-America Selection Committee.

Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that sixteen student-athletes comprise first, second and third teams and Nigeria’s Ekpenyong was selected in the second team.

“Ekpenyong also had a standout season. The freshman from Nigeria had double digit wins in singles and doubles as well. He went 14-6 when playing doubles and 14-2 on the singles lines,” the institution wrote on their website about the Nigerian player.

The Nigerian number one player is currently in the country and is playing in the final of the ongoing VEMP Open National Tennis Championship.

He will be hoping to win the national tournament for the very first time as he comes up against Daniel Adeleye in the final.

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep our followers up to date on the latest results and updates from the tournament.
