JUST IN! ITF Confirm Dates, Venue, Surface For Nigeria’s Davis Cup World Group II Playoffs Matches
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has just confirmed the dates, venue and surfaces for Nigeria’s Davis Cup World Group II playoffs against South Africa.
Nigeria qualified for the World Group II playoffs alongside Namibia and Zimbabwe after an encouraging outing at the Africa Group III Qualifier in Abuja a few months ago.
As a result of this, the Nigerian Davis Cup team will now be fighting for a place in the World Group II, hence the match up against South Africa who were demoted from World Group II.

The draws ensured that South Africa will be hosting the competition which means Nigeria will have to be in South Africa for the two-day event.
Nigeria Tennis Live regular checks showed that before the morning on 4 December, 2024, the Davis Cup website had yet to confirm the date, venue and surface for the competition.
The dates for the event have now been confirmed to be 1-2 February, 2025 inside the Groenkloof Tennis Club, Pretoria, South Africa.

The matches will be played on hard, acrylic outdoor courts with the Dunlop Fort All Court Tournament Select balls.
These details are meant to help participating nations prepare for the competition as much as possible without any excuse of not getting familiar with the surface, ball or venue.
