Junior ITF Circuit: Marylove Shakes Off Disappointing First Leg, Set To Bounce Back Against S/African Player

Nigerian junior tennis wiz kid, Marylove Edwards, has shaken off the defeat she suffered in the first leg of the ITF Junior Circuit in Kigali, Rwanda, as she is set to start the second leg as the number six seed.

Nigeria Tennis Live checks revealed that Edwards lost the quarterfinal match to the tournament’s number four seed but she did not appear spent by the outcome.

In a tweet she posted on her Twitter handle after the encounter, she wrote: “Tough match today after 4-6, 3-6 loss but steady progress. Next tournament starts Monday. Off to the court to correct my errors.”

Subsequently, she also wrote that she had worked for three non-stop hours on her backhand and appeared totally prepared for the second leg of the Grade 5 competition in Rwanda.

Edwards will have to square up against Mikayla Faure, an unseeded South African player, for a place in the second round of the competition.

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep tabs with her performance in Kigali, and update our followers accordingly.
