Junior ITF Circuit: In Form Oyinlomo, Bulus Thrash Opponents, Set For French Litmus Tests

The two top Nigerian players remaining in the Singles event of the ongoing Junior ITF Circuit in Lome, the Togolese capital will face major French oppositions in their bids to qualify for the next phase of the competition, Nigerian Tennis Live can report.

Christopher Bulus who has been in blistering form since the commencement of the third leg of the tournament, proved too much for his Indian opponent, Shreejit Sen, whom he defeated in two straight sets of 6-0, 6-0; the same scoreline in the match between Oyinlomo Quadri and Chakira Dermane to for the quarter final stage of the championship.

Both Nigerian players now have to cross the hurdles of French opponents to qualify for the semi final of the third leg of the tournament which Nigeria has been represented in the final across the first two legs.

Oyinlomo is fired up to at least reach the final of the third leg of the ongoing Junior ITF Circuit in Togo.

Bulus has the task of defeating Raphael Perot while Oyinlomo, the tournament’s number five seed already has her work cut out as she faces Sophia Biolay, the number four seed of the championship to have any chance of progressing in the competition.

Nigeria will hope to go one better than her performance in the first two legs (where Adetayo Adetunji won the Singles event in the first leg and Bulus lost in the final) by winning both the boys’ and girls’ Singles final.

The doubles matches involving Nigerian female players had not been decided as at the time of filing this report.
