Junior CBN Open: Organizers Give Important Update To Players, Coaches

Mr. Godwin Kienka, the Director of the International Tennis Academy (ITA), the body organizing the Junior Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has given an update on the competition.

The former ITF umpire renown for his passion towards grassroots tennis development, had initially informed our correspondent that the competition would climax on February 29, 2020, to commemorate the leap year.

But in a message sent to Nigeria Tennis Live, Kienka has now informed that the date initially mooted was a tentative date as the sponsors had yet to confirm the real date.

When our correspondent reached out to confirm the deadline for players’ registration, he replied, saying that the actual date for the competition has not been confirmed by the sponsors.

He said: “Date not confirmed yet. Will let all know when it is confirmed by the sponsors.

“That date was tentative.”

With this development, tennis players and coaches will have to be patient about the date for the competition and all the details in the build up to the tournament.
