Tennis enthusiasts and lovers will be on their toes today as the federation elects a new board to pilot the affairs of the sport in the country.

Dayo Akindoju promised to ensure that sponsorship of tournaments in the country would not become an issue, while a former vice-president of the federation, Yemi Owoseni, vowed to take tennis to the next level in Nigeria.
Godwin Kienka, the director of the International Tennis Academy (ITA), however, refused to make any comment as regards his plans if elected as the new president of the federation and asked that our correspondent wait until June 13 (today) to find out who emerges.
Fingers are presently crossed and all attention focused on the federal capital territory, where the election is taking place.
