    J5 Lome: Nigeria’s Igbinovia, Marylove Are Top Seeds In Togo

    Nigerian youngsters preparing for the forthcoming Junior ITF event branded J5 Lome, in Togo, are among the top seeds of the competition.

    Wilson Igbinovia, ranked 401 in the world juniors, is the number one seed for the boys’ event, and he’s also joined among the top seeds by Emmanuel Jebutu and David Dawariye.

    Also in the Main Draw of the competition are Usman Kushimo and Joseph Jimoh which makes it five Nigerian youngsters in the tournament organized in the West African country.

    Igbinovia will surely fancy his chances of nearing the top 200 junior players in the world after winning back-to-back Grade 5 Junior ITF wins in Nigeria, and reaching back-to-back Grade 4 Junior ITF Semis in Accra, Ghana.

    In the female category, Marylove Edwards is the number one seed in Togo. And with her 441 placement on the world junior rankings, stands a chance to move closer to becoming top 300 before the end of October.

    Apart from the former US-based youngster, the Yakubu sisters, Oiza and Ohunene are also giving this a great shot, and have both been included as part of the seeded players in the Main Draw of the Junior ITF event.

    Destiny Okhinaye is also among the Nigerian girls gunning for victory at the Junior ITF competition in Lome.

    Buoyed her recent run of form which has seen her dominate in the Juniors in Nigeria, Ohunene is surely seen as one of Nigeria’s brightest prospects in recent years, and she will be closely watched by tennis observers.

    The J5 event is billed to hold from Monday – Saturday, 11-16 October, 2021, inside the CLUB DE L’ASSOCIATON AMICALE DE TENNIS (AAT CLUB) & STADE OMNISPORTS EYADEMA (FTT) arenas in Lome, Togo.
