J30 Abuja: Mubarak, Ogunsakin, Yahaya In Mouthwatering R16 Clash

There are some top of the table clash of Nigerian youngsters at the ongoing J30 Abuja event in Nigeria’s Federal Capital, Nigeria Tennis Live can report.

The competition which served off on Wednesday, 14 February, 2024 with an 6-0, 6-0 win for Ayomide Oduwaye against USA’s Mehdi Herraz continues with a lot of interesting fixtures.

Seun Ogunsakin, former African number one U-14 player will start the long list of mouth watering encounters when he takes on Joel Hiveluah from Namibia just as Yahaya Sani Inabo from Mambilla Barracks will tackle Wang Choi from Hong Kong.

Another top junior player and the tournament’s number three seed, Mubarak Ganiyu, will come up against France-based Jade Nzewi in what promises to be an enticing fixture.

Nzewi, who won the Azimuth Shipping Lines Junior Tennis Championship in Lagos a few weeks ago, will relish the opportunity of going far in this competition when he comes up against the former national number one U-16 youngster.

In the girls Singles, 2023 Dala Hard Court winner, Khadijat Mohammed will be playing against Oluwanifemi Makanjuola while Ikorodu-based Bisola Ogunkolade will battle Toluwalashe Agunbiade for a ticket to the next round.

The matches in the J30 Abuja event are billed to serve off by 9am on courts one to three as well as the centre court of the tennis section inside the National Stadium, Abuja, venue of the two-week event.
