Mrs. Paola Freddi, the principal of the Italian International School, Lekki, Lagos, could not hide her excitement during the recently held private schools tennis event.
She noted that it was like a dream seeing that number of players the school hosted on Friday, 24 November, 2023, during the Invitational Private Schools Tennis Championship in Lagos.
More than 100 students from different schools from within Lekki and other parts of Lagos State attended the four-hour event which was packed full with tennis activities.
And in a brief chat with Nigeria Tennis Live correspondent on the sidelines of the event. Mrs. Paola stated that parents were really surprised and excited to see that number of children in their premises.
She noted that: “This is the first time having children around like this from different schools.

“It’s like a dream. Parents are surprised to see this number of children around here”.
Asked if she believes this kind of competition should continue in the nearest future, she noted that it has to go on because the Italian school is paying more attention to the tennis academy.
“It is the first time we are having a tennis academy here, so it has to go on.
“The essence of the tennis academy is to increase the interest of our children in tennis. Maybe after school, they can play against each other.
“After this tournament, if we call for tennis classes, we are sure that the students will rush down for tennis,” she added with a big smile on her face.
