ITF U-18 Junior Circuit: Again, Oyinlomo Battles Tough Egyptian In Crunch 3rd Round Tie

The battle for supremacy in the girls singles at the ongoing ITF U-18 Junior Circuit just got stiffer as Nigeria’s Oyinlomo Quadri tackles a familiar foe in Egypt’s Yassin Azzat for a place in the tournament’s quarter final.

The Nigerian youngster had edged out the astute Egyptian player in a nervy final which dragged into the final set (in Ghana), and looks set to face the same foe to advance beyond the 3rd round of the second leg of the world junior circuit in Lome, Togo.

Oyinlomo will have to be at her very best to tackle the unyielding Egyptian in the third round of the ITF Junior Circuit.

Nigerian Tennis Live checks revealed that Azzat was in a bullish form in her second round match against Benin’s Emeline Honfoga, winning 6-0, 6-0 to set up the meeting with the Nigerian superstar in the third round.

On the other hand, Nigeria’s Oyinlomo also convincingly tidied up India’s Ruju Chauhan in two straight sets of 6-3, 6-1, to prepare for the all-important clash against the familiar Egyptian number seven seed.

Nigerians will be rooting for their favourite player when hostilities resume at the AAT Club & Stade Omnisports Eyadema Avenue for the third round clash as she remains the only female in contention for the singles title.

Nigerian Tennis Live will also follow proceedings from the match and update our followers with the latest information from the competition.
