Nigerian youngster, Marylove Edwards, has come out strong in her match against her American opponent, Minorka Miranda, defeating her in three sets of 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 at the ongoing U-18 Championship presently taking place in Aruba.
Edwards, who had to scale the hurdle of defeating an American and a Curacaoan in the qualifying rounds before playing the Main Draws, picked up her first official U-18 ITF points on the circuit with the first round win against the American.

According to Nigerian Tennis Live checks, the Nigerian starlet who is presently at the Nick Bolloteri Tennis Academy, Bradenton, Florida, will now play against Sofia Camila Rojas, the tournament’s number three seed, who is also an American.
With this match, the 2017 CBN Senior Tennis Open losing finalist will be playing against the third player of American descent in this tournament.
If she pulls through, the young Edwards is likely to come up against the tournament’s number seven seed, Nikita Vishwase, another American in the tournament.
