Following through with her pre-tournament hype and rating, Oyinlomo Quadre has won her first ever Junior ITF competition in Nigeria by defeating compatriot, Marylove Edwards.

The match which ended in a 6-1, 6-0 victory for the Morocco-based star, was the climax of a near perfect week for the Nigerian youngster.

With this win, she has moved from her 221 ranking position where she started the competition from, to 195 in the world.

Shw is also the fourth best player in Africa following her emphatic win at the junior competition.

In spite of her loss, however, Edwards moved up further on the junior rankings as she is now five places up to 30th on the African log and a top 600 player in the world.

The US-based Nigerian player will be grateful for the opportunity to compete in Nigeria, a situation which massively swelled her ITF ranking points.

After this competition, both youngsters will believe they can keep moving up the cadre in junior tennis as they look forward to more wins.

While Quadre is expected in Kano for the Dala Hard Court Competition, it is yet to be known if Edwards will do same.

Nigeria Tennis Live will follow through with all the details.
