Nigeria’s Marylove Edwards has jumped up 360 places on the latest ITF Junior rankings from her 1092 placing she was prior to her Abuja Junior ITF Circuit victory.

The US-based youngster who was once Nigeria’s number four female tennis player is now ranked 732 in the world, and seems to be on the ascendancy with her new form.

Edwards was not the only Nigerian who moved in the latest rankings.

Africa’s number five rated player, Oyinlomo Quadre, also moved one place in the new rankings, as she is now 221 in the world.

She is expected in Nigeria for the Abuja tournament as the number one seed who got a wild card to participate in the competition.

While Quadre is the number one seed for the tournament, Edwards is the second seed, and Nigerians will be hoping for a match which will involve the pair.

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep up tabs with the players and their ranking points as the year nears its end.
