ITF Grade 3: Brilliant Oyinlomo Whips Stubborn French Star, To Face No 5 Seed In Semis
Young Nigerian teenage sensation, Oyinlomo Quadre, has continued with her fine form against her opponent in the ongoing ITF Grade 3 Championship in Tunisia.
The Morocco-based tennis superstar who has been terrific in the last few weeks was made to fight for her win in the match, though, as she battled from a second round loss to win the final set in dramatic fashion.
Quadre has started the match quite strongly as she raced to a 6-4 win, but her opponent who had earlier crushed a top seed, came out blazing in the next set, as she bossed an unassailable 7-5 win.
But the determined Nigerian came out smoking in the last set, and with so much determination, registered a 6-4 comeback victory to confirm her place in her second consecutive semifinal in as many tournaments.
This unprecedented victory means the youngster will be battling Alina Shcherbinina, the Russian number five seed.
Quadre will have to be wary of her next opponent as she dumped out the tournament’s number two seed in two clean, clear sets of 6-3, 7-5.
Nigeria Tennis Live will keep tabs with the player’s performance in Megrine, Tunisia, and update our followers as they unfold.
