ITF Gives Update Ahead Of Nigeria’s Davis Cup Clash Against South Africa

Fresh updates have been unearthed ahead of Nigeria’s clash against South Africa in their Davis Cup World Group II playoff encounter scheduled for 2025.

The Nigerian team qualified the country to play in the World Group II playoffs after emerging from a six-team group which required only three countries to qualify.

The likes of Zimbabwe, Benin Republic, Ghana, Cote D’Ivoire and Namibia were in the Africa Group III qualifying rounds where Nigeria was the least ranked team at the time.

However, the date for the event had yet to be confirmed by the ITF even though it was said that the competition would be holding either at the end of January, 2025 or at the beginning of February, 2025.

Nigeria Tennis Live therefore reached out to the ITF communications department to find out what the exact locations would be, as well as the surface and the precise dates.

In a response to our query, they wrote: “Thanks for your email. Dates and venues will be confirmed by 27 November. This information will be posted on DC.com a few days after the deadline”.

What this means is that Nigerians will get to know the surface, venue and the precise dates the competition would be holding in South Africa.

Nigeria Tennis Live will continue monitoring the events ahead of the Davis Cup event which Nigeria will be looking forward to winning to return the country to World Group II.
