Inter-School Tennis Championship: About 20 Schools Register As HST Academy Sets Registration Deadline

Nearly 20 schools have officially registered to participate in the HST Tennis Academy Inter-school tennis championship scheduled for November, 2024.

Nigeria Tennis Live had reported that the event which is in its second year, will be holding on Friday, 22 November, 2024, inside the tennis section of the Italian International School, Lekki, Lagos, from 9am.

And as at the time of filing this report, nearly 20 schools had signified interest in participating in the event which brings students together from different private schools across the length and breath of Lagos.

Coaches Henry Shedrack and Benson Ishicheli, who are the proprietors of the HST Tennis Academy, have informed that this year’s edition, even though it’s for one day, will be a lot bigger than the first episode.

They told Nigeria Tennis Live during separate interviews that the first edition was an eye-opener for schools who never thought there was a school with such an amazing tennis facility within their vicinity.

Consequently, those who simply attended during the inaugural edition of the HST Tennis Academy Invitational Tournament are now registering to participate in the event.

“Like I told you the last time, the people who just came around to watch were surprised by how good the facilities here are, and they’re now registering to participate in this year’s edition.

“I can confirm to you that young tennis talents from about 20 schools have already indicated their interest in playing the competition, and we are happy and ready to host them all on the 22nd of November,” an excited Coach Shedrack told Nigeria Tennis Live.

Coach Ishicheli added: “We are grateful to everyone who has supported this project so far because it is their support that is giving us the ginger to keep planning and putting this together”.
