Nigeria’s golden tennis sensation, Oyinlomo Quadre has once again proved her mettle in junior tennis by defeating tough opponents to make it to the Main Draw of a Junior ITF tournament presently taking place in Tunisia.

Nigeria Tennis Live regular checks revealed that the youngster who is presently ranked 301 in the world, could not make it to the Main Draw of the event because of the ranking of the players who entered for the competition, hence her participation in the qualifiers.

The Nigerian teenager got a bye in the first round and without wasting much time, Quadre ensured she gave a good account of herself in her first qualifying match (in the second round) against her Tunisian opponent, Feriel Mahbouli, thrashing her 6-2, 6-0.

She continued the onslaught against Lola Marandel, her opponent from France in the third qualifying round, as she won in two difficult sets of 6-2, 7-5 to join the big girls in the Main Draw.

With this result, Nigeria Tennis Live can report that Quadre stands a chance of adding to her world ranking and earn more points to enable her play in other top world junior championships.

The youngster who has dominated ITF Junior Circuits in West Africa in recent years will now kick off her first round match in the competition against 15-year-old Alina Granwehr (ranked 271 in the world) to stand a chance in the round of 16.

Quadre is presently on scholarship at an ITF High Performance Centre in Morocco where she is continuing her tennis development, and will fancy her chances of going beyond the first round where she ended her Singles adventure at the junior tournament she played last week.

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep up with her performance at the tournament in Tunisia which is being played by top players including a world number 34 youngster.
