Former vice president of the Nigeria Tennis Federation, Mr. Yemi Owoseni, has vowed to make tennis a household name in Nigeria.

The one time vice president of the Confederation of African Tennis is one of the three candidates vying for the post of the NTF presidency in the fast approaching June 13 elections.

Mr. Femi Owoseni wants to take Nigerian tennis to the next level.

Naija Tennis Special recently caught up with him and asked him exactly why he wants to contest to become the next president of the federation after being in the set up for about two decades, and the Ekiti-born tennis administrator made his points clearly.

“I want to take tennis to the next level,” he began.

“If I become the president, I will use my experience of over two decades of administration to bring change to the game in Nigeria because we want tennis to become a household name in the country.

“We want to continue with the work of the NTF. The level of the sport is going up and we are dominating at the juniors. We want to transit to the senior level but it has not been easy but I believe with God, I have the antidote.

“We want to launch a project that will ensure tennis becomes a household name in the country and take the sport to the highest level.

“In doing all of these, we cannot do without considering the welfare of the coaches and the officials who will be in charge of the sport,” Mr. Owoseni explained further.
