Nigerian Tennis Live can authoritatively report that there will be a junior tennis tournament in the country to usher in the month of April.
This information was exclusively made available to our correspondent by Mr. Godwin Kienka, the Director of the International Tennis Academy, the organization which is organizing the tournament in Lagos.

During the brief chat with Nigerian Tennis Special, Mr. Kienka informed that the tournament will usher in a new tennis season as other junior tournaments, one of which is the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Junior Tennis Open, will take place as well.
“The date for the junior tennis masters is 2-7 April, that’s the tentative date as at now. I shall confirm the other dates to you before the end of tomorrow (Friday, 16 March) so that everybody can be aware before the dates.
“We actually got a new sponsor for the tennis masters, that’s why it is different from what we used to have. Zenith Bank is sponsoring the junior masters,” he explained to our correspondent.
This tournament will be the first for the junior players after the MP Tiger junior tournament which was used as a preparation for Nigeria’s U-12 contingent to the recently concluded ITF/CAT West and Central African tennis championship in Benin Republic.
Junior tennis coaches and players will be keen to participate in this new tournament, especially those who qualify to play in the junior masters championship.
Nigerian Tennis Live will keep tabs with the ITA Director to get other information and the date for the CBN Junior Tennis Open.
