Buzzing tennis sensation and youngster, Marylove Edwards, has risen to become Nigeria’s number one female tennis player in the recently released rankings by the Nigeria Tennis Federation, Nigeria Tennis Live can confirm.

Marylove defeated Aanu Aiyegbusi to win her first ever national competition when the pair met at the Dala Hard Court event in Kano and got even one more when they met in the final of the VEMP Open in Abuja. The youngster ran away with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.

With these back to back wins, Marylove had amassed enough points to go clear of Oyinlomo Quadre at the summit of the Nigerian national rankings, to become the current national champion and top ranked female tennis player in Nigeria.
