The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) will be a beehive of activities as the Vice Chancellor’s Cup enters its third year.

For two years in a row, the LASUSTECH Tennis Club has hosted tennis lovers, enthusiasts and club members to unforgettable tennis tournaments and a lavish party to end the tennis year.

And this year is no exception as the event is set to witness another weekend of fun, networking and competitive tennis action among different clubs in Lagos.

Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that the two-day event will be featuring, among other activities, inter-club tennis competition, games, social networking, etc.

Mr. Gafar Tayo Oyewopo, the Captain of the LASUSTECH Tennis Club, informed our correspondent that “this is our flagship event, it’s one which we elaborately celebrate annually, and this year’s edition will not be any different.

“This year, we are hosting three other clubs for the inter-club competition. The FAAN Tennis Club, the Police College Tennis Club and Sky Tennis Club, all in Ikeja, as well as the LASUSTECH Tennis Club, will be competing for various prizes.

“Winners will go home with medals, plaques and prizes, however, at the moment, I cannot say precisely what the prizes will be but what I can say for sure, is that the least prize will not be less than N50,000”.

When asked how many guests are being expected at the elaborate event, Mr. Oyewopo noted emphatically that no fewer than 250 participants are expected at the party.

He also added that this year’s occasion is not open to all as only invited clubs and the host will be allowed into the venue of the event.

“From the three clubs that we’ve invited, we’re expecting no less than 30 members each – that’s about 90 people and from our end, we cannot have less than 160 people, which makes it 250 people or more that we are expecting for the event,” the LASUSTECH Tennis Club Captain noted.

The event is scheduled to hold on 6 & 7 December, 2024, inside the tennis section of the LASUSTECH Sports Centre in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep our readers updated on the activities leading to the event and share all the other updates with our audience.
