The International Tennis Academy (ITA), organizers of the annual Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Junior Tennis Open have announced the date for the commencement of this year’s competition.
In an exclusive chat with Nigeria Tennis Live, Godwin Kienka, the Director of the Academy organizing the tournament, revealed that the competition, which takes place in Lagos will kick off in April and end in May.
He told our correspondent that: “The tournament will kick off on Monday, 29th April and end on Saturday, 4th May, and it promises to be as exciting as before.”
This tournament is one of the competitions that have launched many of Nigeria’s top stars into limelight when they were still finding their feet in the racquet games, and still comes across as one of the major junior tournaments that players look forward to.
The likes of Marylove Edwards, Oyinlomo Quadre, Michael Osewa, among others have come through the ranks while regularly playing the junior tournament.
