Nigeria’s Oyinlomo Quadri has reportedly shared a thought on the secret behind some of her unprecedented wins on the court as she continues with her fairytale run at the ongoing U-18 Junior ITF Circuits across West Africa.
The talented youngster has won two of the three weeks she has played in so far, and is on course to win her third when hostilities resume at the Tennis Clud de l’Amitie in Cotonou, Benin Republic on Monday, 17 September.
Nigerian Tennis Live gathered that after one of her tough matches where she had to come from a set down to win the game, she noted that she was always charging herself up on the court with certain words which have been helping her regain her confidence.

According to her, when the table is turning against her during a match and things seem not to be working in her favour, the only thing that comes to mind is “fight… keep fighting”.
She said: “I told myself in the court during one of my matches that even if I walked out of the court losing 0-6, it must have been after fighting.
“I just wanted to fight on the court and give it my all, and that resulted in a great win for me. I told myself that I was not the daughter of Quadri if I lost a game… all of these strengthened me and kept me going on the court.”
Most tennis followers in Nigeria have tipped her as Nigeria’s best opportunity of having a top female on the WTA rankings and she has proven that time and again with some exceptional performances on the court.
Oyinlomo kicks off her quest for a third title in four weeks when she takes on Nyanyuie Tomegah from Ghana in her first round match at the ongoing leg on Benin Republic.
Like other Nigerians in the tournament, the teenage sensation will be hoping to start off on a victorious note.
Nigerian Tennis Live will keep monitoring the performances of the players at the tournament and keep our followers up to date with the outcome of their matches.
