David Ekpenyong, Nigeria’s number one male tennis player, has won the Men’s Singles title at the just concluded ITA Regional Championships.
The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) tennis player who has been on fire for his school since he joined about a year ago left no stone unturned in the match.

Not only did the NAIA All-American entrant win the Singles title, he also partnered a colleague from his school to reach the Doubles final, although he could not manage a win.
Ekpenyong ensured that his school continued the streak of winning the titles for the second consecutive year after a very intense match on Sunday.

The lanky Davis Cup player, renowned for his deadly forehand and incredible movement on the court had vowed to win the title prior to the match and he went for the broke as soon as the umpire asked them to play.
He noted that reaching the final left a good feeling and added that “I’m focused on the match right now, and all I have on my mind is to win. Hopefully, I get to win this”.
