Ekiti Win Big As FE & P Tennis Invitational Event Ends In Style
Ekiti State recorded big wins at the finale of the FE and P Junior Tennis Invitational tournament which was held inside the tennis section of the Ikoyi Club 1938 on Saturday, 10 August, 2024.
Two players from Ekiti State, Seyi Ogunsakin and Gloria Samuel, ensured that they will be returning to their States with the titles in the Girls and Boys U-14 categories.
While Ogunsakin got the better of Abuja-based Chukwudubem Amasiani, in what was another enthralling cracker between the two top national U-14 players, winning 9-1 in the pro set, Samuel made sure Mofifunoluwa Atilola did not bag a brace of titles in Lagos.

Atilola who defeated Success Godwin 10-7, 10-2 to win the girls’ U-12 title at the competition, could not hold her own against the more experienced Samuel in the U-14 finale, and succumbed to a 2-9 defeat in the hands of the Ekiti girl.
Despite the defeat, the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club player leaves the tournament with most trophies, as a winner (U-12) and as the runner-up (U-14).
In the boys’ U-12 event, Chukwubuikem Amasiani was no match for all his opponents, as he handed them emphatic defeats to emerge top of the round robin group and the undisputed U-12 champion of the FE & P Junior Tennis Invitational tourment.
The youngsters represent a crop of growing tennis sensations in Nigeria in the past few years and seem to be growing rapidly within a short space of time, winning important competitions on the way.
