Nigerian players’ quest for a place in the second round is being boldly led by the nation’s number two male tennis player, Joseph Imeh, as he takes on fellow Nigerian in the first round of the ongoing Dayak Open ITF World Tour in Abuja.

The competition which marks the second week of ITF Circuit tournament in Nigeria kicked off over the weekend with the qualifying matches and the main draw events taking centre stage from Tuesday, 16 April.

And Imeh, one of Nigeria’s top performers, is expected to raise the bar when he takes on fellow Nigerian, Emmanuel Audu – a Wild Card entrant – in the first round of the 25+H tournament which is attended by players from all over the world.

Another Nigerian who takes to court this morning is Musa Mohammed, one of the local players who also got a Wild Card to participate in the championship.

He is billed to play in the centre court against French player, Jaimee Floyd in one of the early first round matches of the Men’s Singles event.
