Coaches Drill Oyinlomo, Bulus, McCleod Others Hard Ahead Of ITF Tourney (Photos)

Nigerian coaches are presently putting junior tennis players through intense training sessions ahead of the ITF 18 & Under Championship holding from September 10-29.

According to information gathered by Naija Tennis Special, the Championship will be holding across two centres; Togo and the Republic of Benin.

The players go through special training on movement.

The players, about 13 of them, have been going through series of drilling by their coaches ahead of the three-week long championship, and have not had any breathing space since their training at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan commenced.

Abel Ubiebi, one of the coaches taking the players through the trainings, told our correspondent that his wards have been going through what he described as ‘high level’ drilling for the past few days and he has the assurance that they will deliver the goods.

Another session ongoing…

“The training level has been high.”

“We go four straight hours in the morning and two in the afternoon. The afternoon sessions are for match play, for the players to compete against one another,” the vastly experienced coach informed.
