Challenged By Governor’s Cup Exposure, Oyinlomo Sets Sight On Senegal, Benin Pro-circuits

Budding Nigerian tennis sensation, Oyinlomo Quadri, has set her sights on playing two more Futures tournaments before the end of the year, Nigerian Tennis Live can report.

The youngster who has been at the ITF development centre in Morocco, played in the Main Draw of the Governor’s Cup Lagos Tennis Championship across two legs, and is relishing the opportunity of playing more of such tournaments even though she did not win any of her games in Lagos.

In a chat with our correspondent, Oyinlomo, who helped Team Offikwu win the NCC Tennis League in 2016, said she got better with each match that she played and her confidence level increased with every performance.

Oyinlomo is starting to believe that she can take on the world and is working really hard towards achieving this.

“In the first leg I played well, but I even did better in the second leg when I was starting to believe that I could win if I really played much better.

“My promise to the organisers was that they would see a good performance; win or lose and that was what I delivered out there on the courts. I believe (if I don’t have ranking points the next time) I can still get the wild card to play next time,” the young tennis prodigy stated.

She also let Nigerian Tennis Live in on her plans for the next future before her next trip outside the country.

According to her: “I have plans to play in more pro-circuits in Africa since I will be in Nigeria for the next three months before I move to (maybe) the US to continue my tennis development.

“So, I am hoping to get a wild card to play pro-circuits in Senegal and Benin Republic to get better before this year ends. I just want to play more tournaments that will boost my confidence even more and I hope this will be the case when I get to participate in the ITF Futures.”
