The Nigerian U-12 team to the ongoing CAT Championship in Benin Republic continued their impressive run of form at the tournament with unyielding wins.
They started the competition with a well-deserved win against a stubborn Malian side, with Oluwaseun Ogunshakin, the team captain, producing some amazing performances.
Onyekachi Ogumjiofor lost to Diallo Djibril 4-6, 4-6 but Ogunsakin made up for that with a 6-0, 6-1 thrashing of Tiekoro Sow
Both players would later partner to defeat the pair of Sow Mamadou Diaby in a 6-4, 6-2 game, to have Mali a 2-1 defeat.
Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that in the female category, Nene Yakubu continued her unbeaten run in the competition, as she ousted Paule Alicia Ndong from Gabon in a classic 6-0, 6-0 game.
Khadijat Mohammed dominated her match against Ramia Salma Lofohoro with a 6-1, 6-0 win while Yakubu and Ogunjimi Elizabeth Success combined to hand Ramia Salma Lofohoro Paule Alicia Ndong a comprehensive 6-0, 6-0 routing.
With this result, the boys will now tackle Senegal for their second match to qualify to the knock out stage.
For the girls, they will be targeting their third straight 3-0 win when they play against hone wide Benin for their third match.
