BREAKING: Oyinlomo Moves Up ITF Ranking Again, Now Rated No. 2 In Africa

ITF’s new ranking has seen Nigeria’s Oyinlomo Quadre move up the ladder to place 176 in the world and become the second highest placed African player on the world junior rankings.

According to the new ranking released by the world’s tennis governing body on Monday, 29 April, the youngster (in Africa) is just behind Nahimana Sada of Burundi, who is ranked number 28 in the world.

This development is coming barely one week after Quadre’s unprecedented ITF Grade 3 Junior Circuit win in Tunisia, which shot her up from 320 in the world to 202.

Nigeria Tennis Live reports that her recent engagement in the Grade 2 tournament in Algeria, where she won only one match in the second round and lost the quarterfinal match after losing 5-7, and retiring in the second set shot her up the rankings and pushed her within the top 100 junior players in the world.

Quadre also played to the final of the Doubles event at the Grade 2 tournament where her partnership with a Moroccan player could not earn them the maximum points in the last match.

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep monitoring the player’s participation in junior tennis tournaments across the country and report her development.
